LSAS39. Great Northern Railway Ivatt 'C1' Class 'Atlantic' 4-4-2 Tender Loco No. 990 'Henry Oakley'. In GNR fully lined green livery. This is from a brass kit, possibly the Limited Edition kit produced by L.H. Loveless many years ago. Fitted with Portescap motor/gearbox, solid cast wheels, American pickup system, a little bit of compensation on 2 tender axles, and excellent cab detail. It has a short drawbar between loco and tender so requires wide radius curves but a longer drawbar would improve this. The model has had light to medium use. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works in 1898 as one of the first class of 'Atlantic' locos in the UK. It was the only GNR loco to carry a name. It became LNER No. 3990 and was withdrawn from Lincoln in October 1937 and preserved in 1938 in the 'old' York Museum. Subsequently it became part of the National Collection, now on static display at York. RESERVED.
