CJEP01. A Pair of Pre-War 'K' Type Pullman Cars 'Belinda' and 'Car No. 73 Third Class'. These carry the pre-war style of Pullman livery with white roofs. They are older used models kit or scratchbuilt by Peter Dawson and painted by David Studley (both signed on the underside) and appear to be early examples of their long collaboration. The prototype kitchen car 'Belinda' was built in 1928 and went straight into 'Queen of Scots' service but will also have seen service on the 'West Riding Pullman' in the 1930's. Post-war it was used on 'The Yorkshire Pullman' and again on 'The Queen of Scots' staying on the East Coast services until withdrawal in May 1965. Third Class Parlour Car 'Car No. 73' also went into service with the 'Queen of Scots' in 1928. It was seen as part of the 'Eastern Belle' rake for a short spell in the 1930's returning to East Coast service. During the war it was loaned to the LNER, painted all over brown and continued in service. Restored post- war it was a 'spare for the 'Queen of Scots'. By May 1961 it had moved to the Southern region for 'Bournemouth Belle' service then becoming part of a spare set for the Western Region's diesel 'Blue Pullman'. After mostly being unused in this role it was condemned late in 1963. £495 for the Pair.
