LSAS38. BR ex- LMS Stanier 'Mogul' 2-6-0 Tender Loco No. 42976. In lined BR black livery with early crest and shedplate 6B Mold Junction (North Wales) . This is kitbuilt from a Gladiator brass kit very well built and painted by Peter Roles with his maker's labels on the underside of the loco and the tender. Fitted with a Buhler or similar motor, Ron Chaplin single stage gearbox, solid cast wheels, compensation on the middle and trailing tender axles, American pickup system, and with excellent cab detail and crew. The model has had medium use and one BR tender crest ansd one cabside number are damaged and need replacing. The prototype was into service from Crewe Works to Crewe South in January 1934. It was at Mold Junction from 1947 to 1960 and was withdrawn from Nuneaton in July 1963. £850.
