LAH03. Great Western Railway Churchward Class '47xx' 2-8-0 Loco and Tender No. 4703. Paired with a 3500 gallon tender and in plain GWR green with 'Great Western' on the tender in gold letters shaded red as used from the early 1920's up to circa 1934. This is from a Gladiator or Javelin brass kit and fitted with a Ron Chaplin multi-stage gearbox (with a Mashima or similar motor), Slaters wheels and very good cab detail. The model has had medium use and the motor/gearbox combination is very slightly noisy when running forward. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in March 1922 and was withdrawn from Old Oak Common in May 1964 although most of its later life was at Laira and St. Philips Marsh.
