LIM14. LNER Gresley Twin-Tender A3 Pacific No. 4472 'Flying Scotsman'. This is built and painted from a DJH Limited Edition brass and whitemetal kit (this was No. 13 of just 50 kits produced). Finished in LNER lined apple green livery, representing the non-stop run of May 1968 when in the ownership of Alan Pegler, and commemorating the original non-stop run 40 years earlier (for which the additional water carrying tender was used). The model is fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, Slaters wheels, and with very good cab detail (not forgetting the twin corridor tenders). The model is supplied in its original box having been lightly used, but the paintwork in places suggests it was not a professional job. Also supplied is the Limited Edition certificate signed by Alan Pegler, Tony Marchington and Sir Bill McAlpine (all previous owners of 'Flying Scotsman'). As perhaps the most famous locomotive in the world, No. 4472 now as part of the National Collection needs no further introduction from me. PRICE REDUCED TO £1395.
