LDD06. LNER Gresley A4 Pacific 4-6-2 Loco and Tender No. 4483 'Kingfisher'. In LNER pre-war fully valanced condition, paired with a non-corridor tender, and in lined blue livery. This is a substantial and weighty older model from a brass and whitemetal kit (probably by DJH) and fitted with solid cast wheels, a little bit of compensation on the centre driving axle, a Buhler motor (with plastic final drive gear), and excellent cab detail. The model is lightly used. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works to Haymarket in December 1936. It was renumbered to No. 24 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme, thence BR No. 60024. It was withdrawn from Aberdeen Ferryhill in December 1966 after its Indian Summer on the Glasgow 3 hour expresses. Other than short spells at Kings Cross and Doncaster it was always a Scottish A4. PRICE REDUCTION TO £675.
