The prototype commenced service as a 7- coach set on 30th September 1935 (an extra coach was later added to the third class coaches) but only lasted until the outbreak of war in September 1939. The train was made up of a twin articulated first class pair (Brake/First, All First), a triplet articulated Restaurant Car set (in the middle, with kitchen car in the centre and open first-class and third-class cars either side), and a twin articulated third class pair (All Third, Brake Third). The set is supplied in its original L.H. Loveless box with packing. PRICE REDUCTION TO £3150 FOR THE 7-COACH SET.
