LQL12. Midland Railway Johnson '1377' Class 0-6-0 Half Cab Tank Loco No. 1789. In MR plain black, lightly weathered, and with 'MR' on the bufferbeam. This is scratchbuilt in brass by an unknown builder and fitted with Mashima type flywheel motor, worm & wheel drive, Slaters wheels, a little bit of compensation, dummy inside motion, and with very good cab detail and crew with fire irons & tools. The model has had medium use and the motor/gearbox combination is noisy as is common with a worm and wheel drive. The prototype was into service from Derby Works in August 1890 as MR No. 1976, renumbered to No. 1789 in 1907 which it retained in its LMS days. It was withdrawn in December 1933 having been a long term Kentish Town loco. RESERVED.
