LSAS37. London & South Western Railway Adams Class T3 4-4-0 Tender Loco No. 563. In LSWR fully lined green livery. This is probably kitbuilt from a brass kit and fitted with a multi-stage gearbox (not sure of the motor type), solid cast steel wheels, dummy inside motion, pickups on the tender (rather than the loco), and with good cab detail and crew. Painted by Conrad Cooper with his signature on the underside. The model has had medium use. The prototype was into service from Nine Elms Works in February 1893. It entered Southern Railway service with the same number (later E563) and was the last T3 to be withdrawn, in August 1945. It was stored awaiting scrapping but fate took a hand and in 1948 it was cosmetically restored into LSWR Drummond livery as the LSWR representative for the Centenary of Waterloo station. This ensured its preservation and after various storage locations it became part of the National Collection (firstly at the 'old' York museum). Now part of the Swanage Railway fleet where restoration was completed in 2023. RESERVED.
