LDS039. BR ex- Great Western Railway Collett 'King' Class 4-6-0 and Tender No. 6000 'King George V'. Fitted with a double chimney and in lined BR green with late crest and shedplate 81A Old Oak Common. This is a brass model believed to be scratchbuilt by Severn Lamb Engineering but there is no sign of a makers plate or attribution. Fitted with solid cast wheels, a heavy duty multi-stage gearbox (not sure of the motor type), working inside motion, compensation on the centre axle, and with very good cab detail and crew. The model has had medium use. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works as early as June 1927 and after a long life was withdrawn from Old Oak Common in December 1962 for subsequent preservation as part of the National Collection (presently at Swindon GWR museum). £1100.
