LJEP34. Great Western Railway Churchward 4-4-0 Loco and Tender No. 3717 'City of Truro'. In lined GWR livery with garter crest and with black frames as running circa pre- World War 1 to circa 1920 (polished splasher rims did not continue much after WW1). This is a brass model by Sancheng for Finescale Brass and fitted with compensation on the leading driving axle and all tender axles, working inside motion, and with excellent cab detail and crew. The model has had medium use and please note the following. (1) One set of tender steps have been repaired or refitted. (2) There is a hole drilled in the underside of the tender body (probably with the intention of fitting DCC inside the tender body, the hole being for wiring - but this model is DC only). The model is supplied in a plain box. The prototype to Churchward’s design entered service as 3440 from Swindon Works in 1903. It was renumbered to 3717 in 1912 and retired for preservation in 1931.
