LRH04. BR ex- LNER Thompson Class 'B1' 4-6-0 Loco and Tender No. 61251 'Oliver Bury'. In early BR lined apple green livery (circa 1948) with 'British Railways' in full on the tender. This is kitbuilt in brass and fitted with a multi-stage gearbox (probably with a Canon or similar motor), Slaters wheels, and with very good cab detail and crew. The model is lightly used and has a Kadee coupling on the tender and a screw coupling on the front of the loco. The motor is wired positive to negative (so 'forward' on the controller is 'reverse' and vice versa). The prototype was into service from the North British Locomotive Company, Glasgow, in November 1947 to Ipswich. It soon moved to Kings Cross then to Grantham (June 1959) and Immingham (September 1963) from where it was withdrawn in April 1964. Oliver Bury made his name as a Railway Engineer in Brazil and Argentina before returning to become General Manager of the Great Northern Railway in 1912 and subsequently a director of the LNER. He died in March 1946. £995.
