CJEP06. A Rake of Six GWR Hawksworth 64ft Corridor Coaches. In GWR lined brown and cream livery with 'Twin Cities' crest as used circa 1942- 1948. These are superbly built and painted from brass kits by Hurn Models/Chris Hillier Models and comprise the following. (1) Brake/Luggage Third No. 1774 to Diagram D133 (built Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Works). (2) All Third No. 819 to Diagram C82 (built GWR). (3) All Third No. 791 to Diagram C82 (built GWR). (4) Brake/Composite (First/Third) No. 7372 to Diagram E164 (built GWR). (5) All Third No. 794 to Diagram C82 (built GWR). (6) Brake/Composite (First/Third) No. 7841 to Diagram E164 (built GWR). These are fine and quite heavy models with excellent bogie and underframe details, are lightly used, and are supplied in plain boxes. The kits alone, when available, cost in the region of £400 each. Note that coaches 1-4 as described above are by the same builder and painter. Coaches 5 & 6 are by a different painter, possibly a different builder, but are a good match to the other four. If not sold as a set of six we will consider selling as a rake of four, with coaches (5) and (6) sold separately as a pair. Hawksworth became Chief Mechanical Engineer of the GWR in 1941 and the prototype coaches were introduced under his jurisdiction, mostly between 1946 and 1948. PRICE REDUCTION TO £3500 FOR A RAKE OF 6 COACHES.
