LDR16. LNER Gresley A4 Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 4497 'Golden Plover'. In LNER fully valanced pre-war form, paired with a corridor tender, and in LNER lined blue livery. This looks to be from a brass kit and is fitted with a heavy duty multi-stage gearbox (not sure of the motor type), Slaters wheels, compensation on the leading two loco driving axles and all four tender axles, extra pickups on the tender, and very good cab detail. This is a used model from a working layout which has one cab door missing from the loco, the flexible part of the tender corridor connection is missing, and part of the rear tender coupling is missing (these items are not present). The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works in October 1937 going to Haymarket. It became LNER No. 31 in the 1946 renumbering scheme thence BR No. 60031. It seems to have stayed at Haymarket until February 1962 ( if this is correct, a huge length of time for a single allocation) moving then to St. Rollox from where it was withdrawn in October 1965. £795.
