LJEP25. BR ex- LNER Gresley A4 Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley'. Paired with a corridor tender and in lined BR blue livery with early crest, weathered. This is a brass model by F.M. Models of Korea for L.H. Loveless and is fitted with working inside motion, opening smokebox door with detail, and excellent cab detail with crew added. It has the original Kadee type coupling on the tender which drops down to reveal a normal coupling hook. This is a DC model which has had medium use with minor handling marks, and is supplied in its original inner and outer boxes. Please note that the tender corridor connection has been replaced. Due to the box length, shipping (UK and International) is by DHL only at cost price. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works to Kings Cross in October 1937 as LNER No. 4498, becoming No. 7 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme and subsequently BR No. 60007. Its BR blue livery was applied in September 1950 and it ran in this livery until being repainted in BR green in April 1952. From KX it moved to Grantham in April 1944, back to KX in June 1950 staying until June 1963 when it moved to New England (Peterborough). The next move was to St. Margarets (October 1963) and finally Aberdeen Ferryhill (July 1964) for service on the Glasgow 3 hour expresses where it ran until withdrawal in February 1966. Its subsequent 59 years in preservation are well documented and vastly exceed its 29 years in revenue earning service. £2200.
