LQL25. BR ex- LMS Fowler Unrebuilt 'Patriot' 4-6-0 and Tender No. 45543 'Home Guard'. In lined early BR black livery with 'British Railways' in full on the tender, as running circa 1948/49, and with shedplate 5A Crewe North. This is a Limited Edition brass model built in Korea for Lee Marsh Models (Order No. 55) and fitted with all Lee's usual refinements including compensated chassis, working inside motion and superb cab detail. This is a DC model - there is a DCC blanking plug supplied and fitted below the rear of the cab bypassing the DCC cicuits to allow normal DC running. The model is lightly used and is supplied in its original inner and outer boxes with plinth, photocopied instructions, DCC blanking plug, gloves and unused accessories. The prototype was into service from Crewe Works in March 1934 as LMS No. 5543, thence becoming BR No. 45543. Whilst running in this livery it was at Liverpool Edge Hill until October 1948 then moving to Crewe North. After spending its BR life in the North West it was withdrawn from Carnforth in November 1962 having spent its last 6 months there probably working between there and Leeds/Bradford. £2000.
