LJEP38. BR LMS-designed Fairburn Class 4P 2-6-4 Tank Loco No. 42159. In lined BR black with late crest, weathered, and shedplate 9E Trafford Park (Manchester). This is a substantial older used model in brass by 'P.A.W' of Cross Hills (near Keighley) with his maker's plate on the underside - believed to be P A. Whitaker. Fitted with a multi-stage gearbox, a Canon or similar motor, Slaters wheels, and with very good cab detail. Although in running order the wheels and electrical wiper pickups need a good clean and the pickups may need adjusting. The prototype was into service from Derby Works to Kentish Town in July 1948 (so not quite an LMS loco) and was withdrawn from Bolton in June 1966 having spent its last 4.5 years in the North West. £695.
