LRG44. BR ex- GWR Collett Class '57xx' 0-6-0 Pannier Tank No. 8790 as a RESTORATION PROJECT. In plain BR black with early crest and shedplate 82B St. Philips Marsh. This is kitbuilt from a whitemetal and brass kit and was originally part of the MVRH collection (Michael Heaven) with a MVRH plate on the underside. Fitted with a multi-stage helical gearbox, a Mashima or similar motor, Slaters wheels, compensation on the leading two axles, and with excellent cab details and a driver. This is a used model which runs fine but has the following issues. (1) The smokebox saddle is showing early signs of coming away from the chassis. (2) The whistles are missing. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in February 1934 and was withdrawn from St. Philips Marsh in May 1962 having spent its whole BR life there. £195 as a RESTORATION PROJECT.
