CDS136. Pullman ‘K’ Type Bar Car 'The Hadrian Bar'. With matchboard sides and in post-war livery with grey roof and with lightly weathered underframe. This is a detailed brass model produced in Korea by F.C. Models for Golden Age Models. Fitted with working interior lighting, highly detailed interior and underframe, opening doors and glass windows. It also has roller bearing axles fitted for smooth running. Additionally with passengers fitted. This is a used model with some modifications. The grey roof has been badly repainted at some time, and the electrics for the lighting have been modified. The battery box has been removed and the lighting works on direct pickup from the track (with what looks to be a 'stay alive' circuit). The model is supplied in a Golden Age box but not the original one for this coach. The prototype was converted in 1948 from Car No. 59 (built 1925) and entered service on the Tees-Tyne Pullman. It also ran on other East Coast services so would probably have been used on 'The Queen of Scots' and 'The Yorkshire Pullman'. 'The Hadrian Bar' also ran on 'The Master Cutler' service between King's Cross and Sheffield between 1958 and 1960. In 1961 it moved to the Southern Region, was repainted in green livery, and was used as a Buffet Car on Southampton Ocean Liner services. RESERVED.
