LMF23. BR ex-LNER ex- Great Central Robinson Class A5 4-6-2 Tank Loco No. 69806. In lined BR black livery with early crest and shedplate 34E Neasden. This is a substantial older model, kit or scratchbuilt, and fitted with a large Buhler/Crailcrest flywheel motor, a heavy duty multi-stage gearbox, and Slaters wheels. There is no cab detail as the end of the motor and flywheel project into the cab. The model has had medium use and runs fine but the electrical pickups on the centre driving wheels need attention. The prototype to Great Central class 9N was designed for suburban passenger services, one of a classs of 44 built between 1911 and 1926. No. 69806 was one of the first batch entering service in June 1911 as GCR No. 23. It became LNER No. 5023, renumbered to No. 9806 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme thence BR No. 69806. It was withdrawn from Gorton in March 1960. £595.
