LEJ79. GWR Churchward 'Star' Class 4-6-0 & Tender No. 4021 'King Edward' as a RESTORATION PROJECT. In lined GWR livery with garter crest as used circa 1906 - 1927. This is an older used model in brass and fitted with inside motion, a large Crailcrest-type can motor, a heavy duty multi-stafe gearbox, American pickup system, solid cast wheels, and with excellent cab detail and crew. This is sold as a Restoration Project and as a non-runner for the following reasons. (1) There is no response from the motor when in the loco cradle with power applied. (2) The turned steel wheels are heavily rusted as per the last photograph. (3) There is a dint in one cab side. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in June 1909 as No. 4021 'King Edward'. It was renamed to 'The British Monarch' in June 1927 then again to just 'British Monarch' in November 1927. It remained in service until withdrawal from Oxford in October 1952. SOLD.
