LDS022. LNER Gresley Class A3 Pacific 4-6-2 & Tender No. 2745 'Captain Cuttle'. Paired with a corridor tender and in lined LNER apple green livery. This is a substantial model from a DJH whitemetal and brass kit and fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, Slaters wheels, and with excellent cab detail and crew. The model has had medium use and one cab door has been re-attached. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works in September 1928 to Doncaster shed as No. 2745 thence becoming LNER No. 91 in the 1946 renumbering scheme. As BR No. 60091 it was withdrawn from Gateshead in October 1964 having spent most of its life at Carlisle Canal (1928 - 1948) then Gateshead, Heaton and Darlington. The racehorse 'Captain Cuttle' was the winner of the 1922 Epsom Derby. £995.
