CDS135. Pullman 'K' Type Brake/Third 'Car No. 79'. In post-war livery with grey roof and with lightly weathered underframe, and with 'The Tees-Tyne Pullman' carriage boards. This is a detailed brass model produced in Korea by F.C. Models for Golden Age Models. Fitted with working interior lighting, highly detailed interior and underframe, opening doors and glass windows. It also has roller bearing axles fitted for smooth running. Additionally with passengers fitted. This is a used model with some modifications. The grey roof has been repainted at some time, and the electrics for the lighting have been modified. The battery box has been removed and the lighting works on direct pickup from the track (with what looks to be a 'stay alive' circuit). One steam or vacuum pipe is missing. The model is supplied in a Golden Age box but not the original one for this coach. The prototype 'Car No. 79' was one of the 1928 all-steel cars built by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co. (Birmingham) specifically for 'The Queen of Scots' service. It stayed on East Coast Services both pre- and post-war until the 1960's when replaced by a full BR Standard brake. It then survived for use as a company Board Room until around 1973 when it moved to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for preservation. £275.
