LDS055. LNER Gresley Class A3 Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 2751 'Humorist'. Fitted with a double chimney, paired with a Great Northern type tender and painted in LNER lined apple green livery. This is very well built from a Martin Finney kit by Brian Brown and painted by Larry Goddard (signed on the underside, 1996). Fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, Slaters wheels, a little bit of compensation on the leading two driving axles and all tender axles, American pickup system, and with excellent cab detail and crew. The model is lightly used and ideally for serious running would benefit from more weight in the loco. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works in March 1929 as LNER No. 2751 becoming LNER No. 97 in the 1946 renumbering scheme thence BR No. 60097. It was withdrawn from Edinburgh St. Margarets in August 1963 having previously been at Edinburgh Haymarket from 1950 to 1961. £1295.
