CEJ25. Rake of Eight BR ex- LNER Gresley 'Coronation' Stock Articulated Corridor Coaches. In BR crimson & cream livery and made up of four articulated pairs. Comprising (1) Brake Third No. E1711E with Kitchen Third No. E1712E. (2) Open/Dining First No. E1713E with Open/Dining First No. E1714E. (3) Open/Dining Third No. E1715E with Kitchen Third No. E1716E. (4) Open/Dining Third No. E1717E with Kitchen Third No. E1718E. These are by F.C. Models of Korea for Golden Age Models and are fitted with electric lighting using plunger pickups on the wheels, roller bearing axles, glass windows, and Kadee style couplings. The models are very lightly used (never on a layout) and are supplied in their four original Golden Age boxes, 2 coaches per box. Due to the value and weight, shipping (UK and International) is by DHL only at cost price. The LNER ‘Coronation’ sets were built at Doncaster in 1937 and ran between Kings Cross and Edinburgh Waverley. The LNER diagram numbers were 228 (E1711E/E1712E), 229 (E1713E/E1714E), 230 (E1715E/E1716E) and 231 (E1717E/E1718E). The service was inaugurated in July 1937, running up to the war with a streamlined Observation Car added in summer. The coaches were put into store for the duration of the war then returned in BR days from 1948 as general service stock. RESERVED.
