CQL51. BR ex- LNER Gresley Beavertail Observation Car No. E1729E. In BR crimson and cream livery as running in the late 1940's and early 1950's. This is a brass model by Golden Age Models and fitted with a highly detailed underframe, roller bearing axles and with working interior lights, working tail light, and opening doors. The model is lightly used and is supplied in its original box. Note that there is fading of the cream livery on one side of the model. This is the unrebuilt version as built in ‘beavertail’ form by the LNER in 1937 for use on the pre-war ‘Coronation’ service (London – Edinburgh). In post-war BR days and in this livery it was used first on special services and then on West Highland services where it was rebuilt in 1959 and repainted in BR lined maroon. It is preserved and has been restored to original 'beavertail' form and painted in two-tone blue livery. Now based at Margate. £400.
