LRP06. BR ex- GWR Collett 'Hall' Class 4-6-0 and Tender No. 4920 'Dumbleton Hall'. In lined BR Black with early crest and shedplate 81D Reading. This is an older used model from a brass kit and fitted with a worm and wheel drive, Slaters wheels and with very good cab detail and crew. A substantial model. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in March 1929 and was withdrawn from Oxford in November 1965. It was at Reading from 1947 to 1953 then going to Taunton, Plymouth Laira in 1960, Bristol Barrow Road in 1964 then a very short stay at Oxford in November 1965 leading to withdrawal. Fate took it to Woodhams at Barry from where it was rescued for preservation in 1976 with restoration being completed in 1992. After a chequered life in preservation it is now in Japan as part of a Harry Potter/Warner Brothers static studio exhibition and will no doubt be repatriated at some point to start the next phase of its life. £395.
