LQL 20. LMS Fowler Unrebuilt 'Patriot' 4-6-0 Loco and Tender No. 5527 ‘Southport’. In LMS lined maroon livery with insignia in mid-1930's gold shaded black, and with shedplate 8A Liverpool Edge Hill. This is an older model in brass built and painted by Keith King of the LMS Society. Fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, Slaters wheels, a little bit of compensation on the centre loco axle and all tender axles, and with very good cab detail and crew. The model is lightly used. The prototype was into service from Derby Works in March 1933 as LMS No. 5944 renumbered to No. 5527 in 1934 thence BR No. 45527 in 1948 at which time it was converted to Stanier taper-boilered form. It may well have been a long term Edge Hill loco in LMS days and was certainly there in 1948 and through to March 1961 when it moved to Bushbury for what was probably a short spell on the famous Birmingham - London 2 hour expresses (mostly hauled by 'Jubilees' but 'Patriots' did feature). It was withdrawn from Carlisle Kingmoor in December 1964. £995.
