LRP08. GWR Collett 'Castle' Class 4-6-0 and Tender No. 5018 'St. Mawes Castle'. In GWR plain black livery with shirtbutton crest as used circa 1934 to 1942 but with the unlined black livery clearly intended to represent the 1939 - 1942 wartime period. This is from a David Andrews brass kit built and painted to an amateur standard and fitted with a multi-stage gearbox, a little bit of compensation on the centre driving axle, Slaters wheels, and with very good cab detail and crew. This is a used model and the left rear electrical pickup needs attention (the other 5 are working). The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in July 1932 and was withdrawn from Reading in March 1964 after spending its last 6 years there. £450.
