LDS024. BR ex- LMS Stanier 'Jubilee' 4-6-0 and Tender No. 45694 'Bellerophon'as a RESTORATION PROJECT. A long firebox 'Jubilee' paired with a Stanier welded tender and in lined BR green with late crest and shedplate 55A Leeds Holbeck. This is scratchbuilt in brass (or from an early kit) with some later rebuilding having been carried out. Fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, solid cast wheels, and excellent cab detail. This is a used model with a number of issues. (1) The loco body has a pronounced front-end lean to one side. (2) The cab side sheets are not parallel. (3) It runs but is a reluctant runner. The wheels and electrical pickups are likely to need cleaning. (4) A front coupling is needed. The prototype was into service from Crewe Works in March 1936 and was withdrawn from Wakefield in January 1967. It was at Holbeck from February 1948 to July 1962 having previously been at Bristol Barrow Road. So it would have been a regular performer on the North and West route (Leeds, Sheffield, Derby, Birmingham, Gloucester, Bristol). £395 as a RESTORATION PROJECT.
