LGS57. BR ex-Southern Railway ex-L&SWR Urie 'King Arthur' 4-6-0 and Tender No. 30744 'Maid of Astolat'. With an 8-wheel bogie tender and in lined BR green with early crest and shedplate 70A Nine Elms. This is from a Northstar Design brass kit and is fitted with a Canon motor, ABC multi-stage gearbox, Slaters wheels, and with very good cab detail. The model is lightly used and requires minimum 6ft radius curves due to limited swing on the front bogie. The prototype was into service from Eastleigh Works in September 1919 as London & South Western Railway No. 744, one of the 'N15' Class. It retained this number through Southern Railway days to become BR No. 30744 in 1948. It was at Nine Elms in 1949/1950 then again from May 1953 to October 1955 when it moved to Basingstoke from where it was withdrawn in January 1956 (all the Urie 'King Arthurs' had gone by March 1958, the later Maunsell versions mostly surviving into the early 1960's).
