LGS51. Great Western Railway Churchward 'Saint' Class 4-6-0 & Tender No. 2923 'Saint George'. In GWR lined green with 'twin cities' tender crest as running circa 1927 to 1934. This is from a DJH whitemetal and brass kit, factory built and painted by DJH. Fitted with DJH's own heavy duty motor/gearbox with Delrin final drive, Slaters wheels, and with superb cab detail. The model is likely to have been test run only. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works to Plymouth Laira in September 1907. It lasted until October 1934 and was withdrawn from Bristol Bath Road. Following the earlier 'Scott' and 'Lady' series in production order, all 20 'Saints' appeared from Swindon in August and September 1907 (a phenomenal output). Four of the class survived until 1953 but all had gone by the end of that year. £1995. £1995.
