LGS32. BR ex-LMS ex-Midland Railway Johnson Class 1P 0-4-4 Tank Loco No. 58040. In plain BR black livery as running circa 1948-1950 with 'British Railways' in full and with shedplate 20F Skipton. This is from a brass kit by MSC Models and is fitted with a Sagami or similar motor, a single stage heavy duty gearbox, Slaters wheels, and with very good cab detail and removable roof. The model is lightly used and the motor/gearbox combination is a touch noisy. The prototype was originally one of the Midland Railway '1532' class and was into service from Derby Works to Belle Vue (Manchester) in October 1881 as MR No. 1539. It was renumbered to MR No. 1273 in 1907 keeping this number through LMS days until becoming BR No. 58040 in December 1948. It was withdrawn from Wellingborough in March 1955 having been at Skipton from September 1950 to September 1952. £650.
