LKT01. LMS Stanier Class 4 2-6-4 Passenger Tank Loco No. 2478. In LMS lined black livery with shedplate 9A Longsight (Manchester). This is from a whitemetal and brass kit built and painted by Peter Callon and fitted with a large Sagami-type motor, heavy duty worm & wheel drive, Slaters wheels, and with very good cab detail and crew. This is a substantial model having been lightly used and is supplied in its original box. The prototype was into service from Derby Works in January 1937 as LMS No. 2478 becoming BR No. 42478 in 1948. It was at Longsight at the time of nationalisation in 1948 probably having been there for some time. Leaving Longsight in 1957 it had several other allocations including Bangor, Patricroft, Barrow in Furness, Rugby and Stoke and was withdrawn from Aston (Birmingham) in February 1965. £695.
