This is an older used model from a brass kit and fitted with a Mashima or similar motor, single stage heavy duty gearbox, Slaters wheels, and with basic cab detail. (3) Electrical pickups on the leading axle are either missing or not working. (4) The loco is wired positive to negative, and the motor/gearbox combination is noisy in reverse. The prototype was into service from Darlington Works to Ashford in April 1957, staying until April 1961 then moving to Bricklayers Arms and shortly after to Brighton. Moving north to Warrington Dallam later in 1961 it then went to Widnes in January 1962 and Crewe Works in July 1962 from where it was withdrawn in September 1964 (but not sure why it was allocated there). £495 as a RESTORATION PROJECT.
