LKT05. LMS Stanier 'Black 5' 4-6-0 & Tender No. 5232 as a RESTORATION PROJECT. In LMS lined black livery with shedplate 26A (Newton Heath, Manchester) and paired with a Stanier welded tender, also with separate dome and topfeed. This is kit built by Peter Callon from a brass kit and is fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, Slaters wheels, and with excellent cab detail and crew. The model is very lightly used and runs OK, however both crankpins on the centre driving wheels are turning when they should be fixed. This will probably involve a wheels and motion removal to resolve. The model is supplied in its Peter Callon box. The prototype was into service from Armstrong Whitworth (Newcastle) in October 1936 as LMS No. 5232 becoming BR No. 45232 in 1948. It was a long term Newton Heath resident until December 1962 then going to Bolton, Burton and Warrington Dallam and finally Birkenhead from where it was withdrawn in November 1967. £650 as a RESTORATION PROJECT.
