LDM28. BR ex-Southern Railway Maunsell 'Z' Class 0-8-0 Heavy Shunting Tank Loco No. 30950. In plain BR black, weathered, with early crest and shedplate 72A Exmouth Junction. This is from a brass kit built and painted by Dave Murdoch and fitted with a large Slaters motor, a heavy duty multi-stage gearbox, Slaters wheels, and with excellent cab detail and crew. The model is lightly used and the motor/gearbox combination is a touch noisy. The prototype was into service from Brighton Works in April 1929 as SR No. 950, becoming BR No. 30950 in July 1948. It was withdrawn from Exmouth Junction in October 1962 having spent 6.5 years there mainly on banking duties between Exeter St. David's and Exeter Central. £900.
