LGS58. BR ex-LMS ex-Midland Rly Johnson 2F Class '1142' Loco & Tender No. 58139 as a RESTORATION PROJECT. In plain BR black with early crest and shedplate 19A Sheffield Grimesthorpe. This is from a brass kit and is fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, Slaters wheels, and with excellent cab detail. The model is lightly used but please note the following. The builder has used tiny lead pellets as ballast weight in the boiler. These have a tendency to expand over time and this has opened up a small gap between the firebox and the boiler. Also it runs fine but one electrical pickup on the leading axle is not working. The prototype was into service from Dubs & Co. (Glasgow) in June 1875 as Midland Railway No. 1182 becoming No. 2950 in the 1907 renumbering scheme. It carried this number into LMS days being renumbered again to No. 22950 in 1934 and then to BR No. 58139 in 1951. It was withdrawn from Barrow-in-Furness in November 1956. £495 as a RESTORATION PROJECT.
