LJEP23. GWR 70ft Churchward Steam Railmotor No. 85. To Diagram 'R' in GWR fully lined and panelled crimson livery with garter crest as running from circa 1912 to 1922 . This is from a Scorpio brass kit built by Bob Merry and painted by Alan Brackenborough. With destination boards for Wolverhampton, a weathered roof and with passengers and a driver added. Fitted with an ABC multi-stage gearbox and with Slaters wheels. The model has been lightly used mainly as a display case model. Due to the value, shipping (UK or International) is by DHL only at cost price. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in 1908, one of the batch of 16 steam railmotors produced in that year and the final batch to be produced by the GWR. The last working Steam Railmotor was withdrawn in 1935, many having previously been converted to autotrailers with the boiler and steam running gear removed. From the same batch, Railmotor No. 93 has been completely restored by the Great Western Society at Didcot back to a Steam Railmotor having been converted to an autotrailer in 1934. £2995.
