LDTH29. BR ex- War Department 2-8-0 & Tender No. 90174. In plain BR black with early crest. This is from a brass kit and is fitted with an ABC gearbox coupled to a Canon or similar motor, Slaters wheels, sprung hornblocks on all axles (loco & tender), and with very good cab detail. Additionally fitted with DCC and sound using a ZTC chip (address 9074). It also runs on DC but somewhat erratically (it won't run at slow speed) so is sold as a DCC only loco. The model is lightly used and requires cab glazing. Please note that the way it is constructed, based on the design of the kit, does not seem to use a traditional drop-out chassis so access to the interior is not straightforward. The prototype was built by The North British Locomotive Company (Glasgow) in August 1943 as WD No. 7198, renumbered to No. 77198 in January 1945. It became BR No. 90174 in March 1950 and first went to Eastfield (Glasgow) then Newport Ebbw Junction then to Southall on the Western Region where it resided from June 1952 until withdrawal in November 1962. £1200.
