LGS52. BR ex-LMS Fowler 'Patriot' 4-6-0 & Tender No. 45505 'The Royal Army Ordnance Corps' as a NEW BUILD. In BR green with early crest and shedplate 12A (Carlisle Upperby in the early 1950's, before becoming 12B). This is a new build to a high standard from a Gladiator brass kit and requires a little bit of work to complete (as per the unfitted parts shown in the photos). It has been professionally painted. The model is fitted with a large Maxon Swiss motor, multi-stage gearbox, Slaters wheels and with an excellent unfitted cab backhead still requiring pipework. The model is unused and supplied with its build instructions. Plunger pickups are fitted but not yet wired. An excellent project for a few winter evenings to complete a very nice model. The prototype was into service from Crewe Works in July 1932 as LMS No. 5948 renumbered to No. 5505 in June 1934 and subsequently BR No. 45505 in June 1948. It was withdrawn from Lancaster Green Ayre in July 1962 never having been rebuilt by Stanier into taper boilered form. £995.
