LKR36. GWR Dean 'Metro Tank' 2-4-0 Tank Loco No. 3566. In plain GWR green with 'Great Western' in gold shaded red as used typically from circa 1922 to 1934. This is from a whitemetal and brass kit by Castle Kits and fitted with a Mashima motor, single stage gearbox, Slaters wheels and with excellent cab detail. The model is lightly used and is wired positive to negative (so 'forward' on the controller is 'reverse' and vice versa). The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in March 1894 and was withdrawn in April 1938. A total of 140 'Metro tanks' were built between 1868 and 1899 (60 under Joseph Armstrong's stewardship and a further 80 under the management of William Dean) for service on the GWR's London suburban services and the underground services of the Metropolitan Railway. £495.
