LDR14. LNER Gresley Class A4 Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 2511 'Silver King'. Paired with a corridor tender and in LNER pre-war two-tone grey livery. This is kit or scratchbuilt in brass and fitted with a large Buhler motor, multi-stage heavy duty gearbox, Slaters wheels, extra pickups on the tender, compensation on the leading 2 locos axles and all tender axles, and very good cab detail. This is an older used model with repairs and faults including damage to the right hand forward facing window surround, and a detached cab roof. There are no sandpipes fitted. The issues do not affecting its running capability which is good. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works in November 1935 to Kings Cross as LNER No. 2511. It became No. 16 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme thence BR No. 60016. Having started life at KX it moved quickly to Tyneside spending many years either at Heaton or Gateshead. It moved to Scotland in 1963 and its last 2 years from Ferryhill were spent on the famous Aberdeen - Glasgow 3 hour expresses. Withdrawal came in March 1965. £795.
