LGST129. Great Western Railway Churchward designed '28xx' Class 2-8-0 Loco and Tender No. 3803. In plain GWR green with 'G W R' in gold letters shaded red as used circa 1942 - 1947. This is from a Seven Models/Scorpio brass kit with a Warren Shephard tender and fitted with a heavy duty multi-stage gearbox (not sure of the motor type), Slaters wheels, compensation on the 3rd and 4th driving axles and the centre tender axle, and with very good cab detail. The model is lightly used and has the electrical pickups on the tender. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in January 1939 first allocated to Tyseley then moving to Banbury, Old Oak Common, Southall, Cardiff Canton, Llanelli, Gloucester Horton Road and finally Severn Tunnel Junction. It was withdrawn from there in July 1963 moving to Barry Docks from where it was rescued for preservation in 1983 by the South Devon Railway. Now owned by and based at the Dartmouth Steam Railway. £1195.
