LDR18. LMS Fowler 'Patriot' Class 4-6-0 Loco and Tender No. 5549. One of the un-named Patriots, in LMS lined crimson lake livery. This looks to be kitbuilt, in brass, and fitted with a Buhler motor coupled to a multi-stage gearbox, solid cast wheels, extra pickups on the tender, sprung tender axles and very good cab detail. This is an older used model with a slightly noisy motor but in good running order. One front loco step is detached but present. The prototype was into service from Crewe Works in April 1934 and was withdrawn from Warrington (Dallam) in June 1962 as BR No. 45549 having been there for 2 years. It was never named (a missed publicity opportunity by the LMS) and was not rebuilt by Stanier into taper-boilered form. £795.
