LJEP18. GWR Collett 'King' Class 4-6-0 Loco and Tender No. 6028 'King Henry II'. In lined GWR green with roundel/shirtbutton crest as used circa 1934 - 1942. This is a brass model by Masterpiece Models and fitted with all their usual refinements including working inside motion and superb cab detail. This is a DC only model having a DCC blanking plug fitted in the 8-pin socket below the rear of the cab. The model is lightly used, has crew fitted in the cab, and the motor is wired postive to negative (such that 'forward' on the controller is 'reverse' and vice versa). It is supplied in its original Masterpiece outer box (with a repair on one corner) and also its inner box. Due to the length of the box and the insured value, shipping (UK or International) will be by DHL at cost price. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in July 1930 to Old Oak Common as GWR No. 6028 'King Henry II’. It was renamed to 'King George VI' in January 1937 so the model here is represented as running between 1934 (shirtbutton crest introduced) and January 1937 (renamed). It was at Newton Abbott from 1944 to 1948 then returning to Old Oak Common where it stayed until moving to Cardiff Canton in September 1960. It returned to Old Oak Common in June 1962 from where it was withdrawn in November of that year. PRICE REDUCTION TO £2350.
