LJEP17. Great Western Railway Churchward 'Saint' 4-6-0 Loco and Tender No. 2907 'Lady Disdain'. In GWR lined green with garter crest as used circa 1906 to 1927/28. This is by Masterpiece Models, number 7 of 53 'Saints' produced in 2013, with all the usual Masterpiece refinements including working inside motion and superb cab detail. Factory fitted with DCC and sound using an ESU Loksound chip (address 2907) but switchable to also run on DC (The DC/DCC switch is inside the tender water filler). The model is very lightly used and supplied in its original box with Limited Edition certificate, wooden plinth and accessories. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in May 1906 to Bristol Bath Road, one of a class of 70 locos which were the forerunners of GWR loco development (and beyond) for the next forty years. Withdrawal of No. 2907 came in July 1933 from Newport with the last ‘Saint’ (No. 2920 ‘Saint David’) lasting until 1953. The name 'Lady Disdain' is a reference to a comment made to Beatrice in Act 1 of Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing'. PRICE REDUCTION TO £2995.
