LGS27. GWR Dean Outside Framed 'River' Class 2-4-0 Loco & Tender No. 73 'Isis'. In GWR lined and panelled passenger livery. This is a brass model, probably from a kit by CMC Models, and fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, Alan Harris (AGH) turned steel wheels, Dummy inside motion, American pickup system, compensation on the two rear tender axles, and with excellent cab detail and crew. There is a plate on the underside 'Painted by Adrian Prescott'. The model has had medium use. The prototype 'River' class were built at Swindon Works between 1895 and 1897 as rebuilds of earlier 2-2-2 locos and totalled just 8 locos (in reality very few parts other than boilers were transferred from the old class to the new). First based at Oxford, they later moved to the Bristol area and all were withdrawn by the end of 1918. £895.
