LEJ81. BR (LNER Designed) Peppercorn A1 Pacific 4-6-2 Loco & Tender No. 60159 'Bonnie Dundee'. Paired with a rivetted tender and in lined BR green livery with late crest and shedplate 64B Edinburgh Haymarket. This is a very high specification brass model by FC Models of Korea for Golden Age Models. Fitted with all the usual Golden Age refinements including the superb Faulhaber motor, fully working inside motion, opening smokebox door with internal detail and superb cab detail. Also fitted with a double Seuthe smoke unit (not tested). The model has been lightly used and is supplied in its original box with instructions, gloves and accessories. It was originally fitted with DCC and sound using an ESU Loksound ship but on a DCC track the loco is tripping the DCC controller. This may be because of faulty wiring or possibly the DCC chip has been removed or bypassed. The loco runs fine on DC and so is being sold as a 'DC Only' model. It has a screw coupling on the loco and a buckeye type coupling on the tender. Also please note that the internal boxes have been replaced. This is one of only 100 original A1 pacifics produced by Golden Age Models. Note that the length of the box means that UK or International insured shipping is by DHL only (at cost price) as Royal Mail size limits are exceeded. The prototype to an LNER Peppercorn design was into service from Doncaster Works to Haymarket in November 1949 and was withdrawn from Edinburgh St. Margarets as early as October 1963, a tragic waste. The name 'Bonnie Dundee' was a nickname given to John Graham, the first Viscount Dundee (1648 - 1689) a Scottish soldier, nobleman and Jacobite supporter of King James VII of Scotland (James II of England). He led the unsuccessful Jacobite rising of 1689 but lost his life in the process. RESERVED.
