LBP07. Southern Railway Maunsell Class 'S15' 4-6-0 and Tender No. 847. Paired with an 8-wheel bogie tender and in lined Southern Railway olive green livery. This is from a Northstar brass kit and fitted with a multi-stage gearbox coupled to a Buhler or similar motor, Slaters wheels, a little bit of compensation on the centre driving axle, and with excellent cab detail. The model has had medium use, is well weighted, and is wired positive to negative (so 'forward' on the controller is 'reverse' and vice versa). Also the fall plate between loco and tender is present but not fitted. The prototype was into service from Eastleigh Works to Exmouth Junction in December 1936 as SR No. 847 seemingly staying there until moving to Salisbury in June 1951 by which time it had become BR No. 30847. It moved again in July 1959 to Redhill then to Feltham in June 1963 from where it was withdrawn in January 1964. Fate took it to Dai Woodham's at Barry Docks from where it was rescued for preservation in 1978 by the Maunsell Locomotive Society and a new life at the Bluebell Railway. One of seven preserved S15's although No. 30841 has been cannibalised to keep No. 30825 running (on the North York Moors Railway). RESERVED.
